Gunflint Lodge is a year round wilderness vacation resort in Northeastern Minnesota, on the Gunflint Trail just north of Grand Marais entertaining family vacations, cross country (Nordic) skiing, dog sledding, snowshoeing, fishing vacations, honeymoons, and horseback riding.
Gunflint Lodge has been hosting
year around vacationers since the 1920’s. Guests have
been coming to Gunflint for exciting adventures and romantic
getaways. Our winter vacations are some
of the best in the state and our summer vacations are sure
to leave you satisfied. Here at the Gunflint Lodge, we strive
to provide you with your ultimate escape into the woods.
The days are getting
colder and there has been snow in the air. The ducks
at the dock have headed south along with the other migrating
birds, and the forest has taken on it's winter mantle of
deep green stands of balsam and spruce mixed with the bare
spires of aspen and birch. The mooser have headed to
the high ridges where they find their winter feed of tender
aspen shoots and maple buds.
Here at the lodge,
our fall work weekend guests helped us put up our winter
wood and got all our outside furnture stored until spring. A
new dog sled trail was built for a nice one hour ride this
winter, and now we are starting to plan for Thanksgiving. Two
huge hams have just come out of the smoker and will age a
bit before they make a contribution to our huge Thanksgiving
buffet dinner.

Our planned unit development
has been approved by the Minnesota State Dept of Commerce
so we are cleared to start sales. We have platted 12
existing cabins on the west side of our property into a common
interest community and are selling 1/5 shares. This
gives each owner 10 weeks of use during the year, plus the
amenities of the lodge--canoes, kayaks, hiking trails, all
our naturalist activities and the use of the lodge for wi
fi, coffee, cookies, etc.

For those times when you feel like curling up and enjoying a cozy cabin, we encourage you to enjoy our unique and well-appointed cabins including hot tubs, fireplaces, saunas, dishwashers, and even a washer and dryer in your cabin. If having wildlife outside your window sounds exciting, come on down to the lodge and pick up some corn and birdseed for you to stock the feeders directly outside your living room window. If bringing your pet would complete your home in the woods experience, no worries, pets are welcome here to Gunflint Lodge so you can all enjoy your vacation together.
